Aaron Shust Announces New Single “LAZARUS”

Dove Award-winning artist Aaron Shust has released his latest single, "Lazarus," on all major streaming platforms. "Lazarus" is the seventh track featured on his upcoming 11th studio album, The Kingdom, available later this year.

For "Lazarus," Shust reunited with producer Dan Hannon who produced his earliest recordings including "My Savior My God," "Give Me Words To Speak," and "O Come O Come Emmanuel." Shust traveled to Hannon’s Ivy Manor Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a region renowned for its soulful blend of R&B and rock — the exact sound Shust felt this song required.

“We all know the story of Lazarus,” Shust says. “Mary and Martha are sad and a little upset that Jesus didn't show up to heal their brother. The mourning crowd has little faith Jesus can do anything now. Even Jesus cries. That’s why I chose to make this a blues song. But when Jesus declares Himself to be the Resurrection and the Life, and then proves it by calling Lazarus out of the grave? Now that’s just rock-and-roll!”
