Describe a life changing moment:

There are so many: Writing my first song. Being asked to go on tour with Nichole Nordeman. Realizing that being a Christian meant "living according to the teachings of Jesus". Realizing that what makes me right before God is Christ's work on the cross, never my attempts at perfection. Sarah Lopez agreeing to be my wife. Seeing my son for the first time.

Musical Journey:

I sang my first solo at church when I was 3. Took piano lessons from 2^nd – 8^th grade, quit, learned to play by ear, and minored in piano in college; majored in Choral Education and started dabbling with guitar. Worked as a worship leader of Perimeter (PCA) Church in Atlanta from 2000-2005.

Life Journey:

I asked Jesus to save me at age 4 and asked him to be Lord of my life at 9. I felt called to a life of music at 13 watching a Michael W Smith concert video. I moved to Georgia for college at 17 and I've been in the 'Durty South' ever since. Married Sarah Lopez in 2000 and we brought Daniel Nicholas Shust into the world October 2006.
